As we have moved all of our training and learning to online platforms, our Indonesian team have created a variety of MineScape courses, each focusing on a different module.
You can mix and match these courses, apply for one or apply for all. Please submit your details on our online form, and let us know what you are interested in.

COURSE SIZES ARE LIMITED TO 2-6 PEOPLE TO MAINTAIN OPTIMAL TRAINING EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY PARTICIPANT.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Training session will be conducted using Bahasa.
- Minimum of 2 participants, and a maximum of 6 participants per session.
- We will be using MineScape's newest version (version 7) in all training sessions. If you have not upgraded to MineScape 7 yet, we will provide a temporary license for you to use during the training.
- Datamine will be providing a dataset for the training session. If you would like to use your own dataset, please send it to our Datamine team 4 weeks before your scheduled training session, and ensure it meets the standard MineScape dataset format.
- Please note there are no set dates listed as these are flexible sessions that will be scheduled in to fit with your availabilities and requirements. We will discuss the best time for these sessions upon receiving your details on our online form.
- Training sessions will be held using either Skype, GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, or Microsoft Teams. This is flexible dependant on your system and preference.
- You should ensure your laptop/PC complies with the recommended MineScape specifications and that your network connection is stable to minimize any technical issues during training.
- The cost of training will be disclosed and discussed with you once our team clarifies which training sessions you require, and your preferred date. For an approximate price, please fill in your details and we will reach out to you.

CORE MODULE
MINESCAPE SETUP GUIDE KNOWLEDGE FOR IT PROFESSIONALS
1 Day | 4 Hours
This course is dedicated to IT professionals and is designed to teach you the setup and configration of MineScape by covering topics such as:
- How to install MineScape client & server,
- License server configuration,
- MineScape feature/module usage management,
- Client server configuration,
- And more.
MINESCAPE 7 INTRODUCTION FOR MINESCAPE 4/5/6 USERS
2 Days | 4 Hours/Day
This course is focused on teaching you how to use the new features in MineScape 7 by covering topics such as:
- New license management,
- Navigation bar,
- CAD window,
- Plotting features,
- Feedback, stowed & prompt area,
- And more.
HOW TO GENERATE SURFACES
IN MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 4 Hours/Day
By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently create surfaces in MineScape 7. You will gain a better understanding of the source files used to create surfaces such as:
- Triangle files,
- Table files,
- Grid files
- And mxl files.
HOW TO DO PLOTTING IN
MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course aims to teach you how to complete the plotting process more effectively with less steps. We will focus on the concepts and functionality of plotting in MineScape by focusing on the following topics:
- Setting up plot templates,
- Plot Designer,
- Other plotting tools (quick plots etc).

STRATMODEL MODULE
BASIC COAL MODELLING USING MINESCAPE STRATMODEL
5 Days | 4 Hours/Day
This course will give you the ability to generate geological models and quality in MineScape Stratmodel. It will involve focusing on topics such as:
- Data preparation,
- Topography modelling,
- Drilling data validation & interpretation,
- Structural modelling,
- Interrogation,
- Quality modelling,
- And more.
*The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.
BASIC RESOURCES ESTIMATION USING MINESCAPE STRATMODEL
2 Days | 4 Hours/Day
Exploring the Stratmodel module in depth including reporting.
This course is aimed at giving you the ability to estimate resources following applicable standard. We will be focusing on the following topics:
- Drillholes posting,
- Creating influence area polygon,
- Classifying polygon into Resources category,
- Resources estimation,
- Exporting resources table report to Excel.
*The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed the MineScape Basic MineScape Stratmodel Course.

OPEN CUT MODULE
GENERATE BATTERBLOCK, SOLID,
DAN RESGRAPHIC
2 Days | 4 Hours/Day
This course will give you the ability to create batterblock solid and resgraphics, as well as the knowledge to determine SR colours in MineScape 7. SR colours help you determine minable pit limits prior to generating pit designs. We will cover the following topics:
- Generating strip & subdivision line,
- Strip intersection process,
- Pit projection concept & generating solids,
- Performing reserve with solid samples,
- Preparing resgraphic table.
- Generating SR colour through resgraphic tools.
*The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.
GENERATE PIT DESIGN
& RESERVE CALCULATION
2 Days | 4 Hours/Day
This course will give you the ability to generate pit designs and complete the reserve process of the design. We will be covering the following topics:
- Setting up ramp specification,
- Generating crest & toe projection,
- Pit & topography surface intersection,
- Pit reserve calculation.
The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.
GENERATE DUMP DESIGN
& VOLUME CALCULATION
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course will give you the ability to generate dump designs and perform volume calculation. We will cover the following topics:
- Setting up ramp specification,
- Generating crest & toe projection,
- Dump & topography surface intersection,
- Dump's volume calculation.
The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.
SHORT-TERM PLAN INTRODUCTION
IN MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course will give mining engineers the ability to quickly calculate cut/fill for short-term purposes. The output will also be used to update the surface topography. We will cover the following topics:
- Set-up parameters,
- Generating cut designs,
- Generating fill designs,
- Generating ramp designs,
- Result callout.
The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.
RECLAMATION FEATURES INTRODUCTION IN MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
Nowadays, reclamation is one of the most important stages of mining. Therefore, mining engineers need to make better use of reclamation features and ensure its accuracy. We will cover the following topics:
- Data preparation,
- Pembuatan section surface,
- Reclamation tools processing.
The prerequisite of this course is that you have previously completed a MineScape Core Course.

HAULAGE ROAD MODULE
HAULAGE ROAD GENERATION IN MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course will enable you to design a road along any surface. This includes the generation of cut and fills while maintaining grade and curve specification. You will also be able to generate cross-sections and volumes to allow the optimisation of road replacements and estimation of construction cost. We will be covering the following topics:
- Road templates,
- Set-up,
- Horizontal alignment,
- Vertical alignment,
- Cut & fill,
- Cross-sectional volumes,
- Output.

DRILL & BLAST MODULE
DRILL & BLAST DESIGN USING MINESCAPE 7
2 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course will provide you with skills to quickly generate an optimum design in surface mines. You will learn how to generate patterns, estimate explosive quantities and also how to generate a charge sheet to be plotted alongside the design (which can then be sent into the field for drilling and blasting). Additionally, this course includes how the geological model or downhole distance can be used in a design to insert deck and delay into the holes, and how these are then available for charge and explosive calculations. We will be covering the following topics:
- Set-up - setting up initial parameters,
- Blast - specifying the areas to be blasted,
- Layout - laying out the holes,
- Charge - charging the blast.
- Interface - interface with MineScape or third party products,
- Report - generating reports from the blast.
*The prerequisite of this courses is that you must have previously completed a MineScape Core Course OR MineScape 7 for MineScape 4, 5 or 6 Users Course. Please see above 'Core Module' courses.

PIT OPTIMISATION MODULE
DETERMINING OPTIMUM PIT LIMIT IN MINESCAPE 7
3 Days | 3 Hours/Day
This course will give you the ability to optimise pits by considering costs, revenue and slope parameters. We will cover the following topics:
- Converting grid model to blockmodel,
- Update table blockmodel,
- Pit optimisation,
- Reserve ultimate pit.
*The prerequisite of this courses is that you must have previously completed: MineScape Stratmodel and MineScape Blockmodel courses.

SURVEY MODULE
HOW TO IMPORT & PROCESS SURVEY DATA IN MINESCAPE 7
1 Day | 4 Hours
In this course you will learn how to automatically generate survey instructions from mine plans and input survey results from a field recorder or field book directly into the MineScape database. You will also learn how to generate production reports and plans, and use the database information for further short-term planning reclamation and reconciliation. We will be covering the following topics:
- Project set-up covering point codes, GPS trimble codes & display definition,
- Processing functions,
- Viewing, creating and modifying elements,
- Volumes, including triangulated sampling and cut and fill.
